Hire Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms before booking. Full T&Cs are provided at the point of hire.

Simple, fair hire terms

At Lichfield Plant Hire, we aim to make hiring equipment as straightforward as possible. Whether you’re a trade customer or a homeowner, our terms are designed to keep the process clear and hassle-free.

If you have any questions before booking, simply give us a call and we’ll be happy to explain anything.

Booking & Availability

All hires are subject to equipment availability.

Bookings can be made by phone, email or through our enquiry form. While we do our best to reserve equipment, a booking is only confirmed once we have agreed the hire dates and confirmed availability.

Identification

Customers hiring equipment may be asked to provide:

  • Valid photo ID

  • Proof of address

  • A valid payment card

Additional information may be requested depending on the type of equipment being hired.

Payment

Payment is normally required before or at the start of the hire period unless a trade credit account has been agreed in advance.

Our hire charges are clearly explained before your booking is confirmed, with no hidden fees.

Hire Period

Equipment can be hired on:

  • Daily hire

  • Weekend hire

  • Weekly hire

  • Longer-term hire by arrangement

If you need to extend your hire, please contact us before the agreed return date. Extensions are subject to availability.

Delivery & Collection

We offer delivery and collection throughout Lichfield and the surrounding Midlands area.

Delivery charges may vary depending on the location. Collection should be arranged once the equipment is no longer required.

Please ensure the equipment is accessible and ready for collection at the agreed time.

Customer Responsibilities

While the equipment is on hire, customers are responsible for:

  • Using the equipment safely and for its intended purpose.

  • Following all operating instructions provided.

  • Ensuring only competent and authorised persons operate the equipment.

  • Keeping the equipment secure when not in use.

  • Returning the equipment in a reasonable condition, allowing for normal wear and tear.

Damage or Loss

Customers are responsible for any loss, theft or damage to hired equipment during the hire period, other than normal wear and tear.

Any faults or damage should be reported to us immediately. Equipment should not continue to be used if it becomes unsafe or develops a fault.

Fuel & Cleaning

Unless otherwise agreed:

  • Equipment should be returned with the same fuel level as supplied.

  • Excessive cleaning may result in an additional cleaning charge.

  • Normal site dust and wear are expected and will not incur additional costs.

Breakdown & Support

All equipment is serviced and inspected before leaving our depot.

If equipment develops a mechanical fault during the hire period, contact us immediately. We will provide assistance as quickly as possible and arrange repair or replacement where appropriate.

Customers should not attempt major repairs themselves.

Safe Operation

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure equipment is operated safely and in accordance with current health and safety regulations.

Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) should always be worn where required.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as early as possible.

We understand plans change and will always do our best to accommodate revised dates where equipment availability allows.
